The history
Since 2013
Red Water Hosting has been running since 2013, under the same ownership throughout. Not all of those years were good ones, and a timeline that pretends otherwise is not worth the space it takes up. Here is the version with the dip left in.
2013
A domain and two shared plans
redwaterhost.com was registered in September 2013. The first site was barely a site: a client portal with two cPanel plans behind it, Bronze at $1.99 a month and Gold at $4.99. Small, cheap, entirely shared hosting.
2016
Past shared hosting
The range grew into virtual and dedicated servers on SSD storage, with free cPanel to cPanel migrations. By 2018 the site was selling web hosting, VPS and bare metal side by side.
2020
LiteSpeed and LSCache
WordPress performance moved to the front of the offer rather than sitting in a features list, which is roughly where it has stayed.
2021–2025
The quiet years
This is the part most companies leave off the timeline. The name changed to RW Hosting and then changed back. The site sat on off-the-shelf templates for several years, some of them never properly finished. The servers kept running. The company around them stopped being tended.
2026
Rebuilt, and written down
A new site in July 2026, built rather than bought. A published SLA with service credits, legal terms that say plainly what happens to your data, a knowledge base, and renewal pricing held at what you signed up for. The same engineers, with a storefront that finally matches the servers.
Now
Building in public
We are writing up our own engineering as it happens, including VPS Manager, the WHMCS VPS management layer we are building because we wanted it ourselves. It is not released and there is nothing to buy yet. That is the point of saying so.
