What is DNS and its propagation period?

DNS stands for Domain Name System, which controls your website and emails. When visitors go to your website, it's DNS settings that control which server holds your account.

DNS propagation is the time it takes for the name servers (and cache records) to be updated across the internet to align with your website's DNS information.

This period usually lasts 12 to 24 hours, but it can be shorter.
